Cynthia Kay Sherman (April 22, 1958-November 18, 2018)

Cynthia Kay Sherman was born in Fairfield, California, to Bill and Lavesta Sherman of Modesto, CA. She spent her youth with her two sisters Kathleen, and Christine Sherman, and was involved in the 4H club of Empire, CA. She was a graduate of Fred C. Beyer High School “Class of 1975”. After high school, she began attending Modesto Junior College where she met Kent James Hammons. They married on June 30, 1978. Early married life took place in Angwin, CA, while Kent completed his education at Pacific Union College. A job opportunity moved them to Texas where their first child was born; Carrie Lynn Hammons. By 1988 they had returned to Modesto, CA where Cindy was welcomed back to Fred C. Beyer High School to work in the school's library. There she remained for many years.
